The CEMC Workshop in Computer Science for Young Women is a week-long event, including introductory programming, lectures, labs and hands-on activities that are complemented by social activities. Past participants raved about the great time they had and how the workshop changed their perceptions about computer science and computer scientists.

Those selected to attend pay a $150 registration fee, which covers the cost of travel and accommodation in residence.

In 2018 the workshop will be held at the University of Waterloo from Saturday, May 12 to Saturday, May 19.

We are looking for participants with an aptitude in mathematics but with little or no previous exposure to computer science. Participants should not have attended any similar workshop.

The workshop is open to female students in grade 9 or 10 who you think have an interest in mathematics but have little or no previous exposure to computer science. We are looking for students who are bright and interested in computer science, but have had little exposure to the subject.

More information and our online application system are available at http://www.csgirlsrock.ca
