The Ottawa International Animation Festival is excited to share with you what we have at the Festival this year for teens and high school classes!

From September 26-30, 2018 downtown Ottawa will once again be the stage where you can enjoy the world's most cutting-edge, thoughtful, funny and provocative animation films while mingling with many of animation's most celebrated stars, studios and characters.

Once again, Friday of the Festival is Toon Apprentice Day! On Friday, Sept. 28th, from 9am - 2:30pm, high school students interested in a career in animation are welcomed to the National Gallery of Canada to check out presentations from some of Canada’s top animation schools and watch two screenings of student animation films. Schools should reserve their spots as soon as possible. Email or call 613-232-8769 to register.

On Saturday, Sept. 29th, teens can get a free Toon Apprentice Pass! This pass gives them access to all screenings on Saturday (until 6pm). If they are interested in a career in animation, they’ll want to check out the Animation Career Fair that day (at the NAC) to see what all the participating schools have to offer. Teens can get their Toon Apprentice Pass by logging into our website, ordering a pass, and choosing the free Toon Apprentice pass. Limited passes will be available on the day.

The Festival is also a great opportunity for high school students to Volunteer! Not only will volunteers have fun and gain valuable experience but working two full shifts will earn them a full pass to the Festival. Volunteers are needed in the months leading up to the Festival, as well as the Festival itself. Learn more about what it’s like to volunteer and the positions available on our website.

Email or call 613-232-8769 with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you and your students at the Ottawa International Animation Festival this year!
