Volunteer Call for Ottawa City Soccer Club

Hello everyone,
 
We are beginning the call out for VOLUNTEERS from our soccer community.
We have mapped out opportunities available from now until September 2019.
This a great way to accumulate volunteer hours for high school and an excellent opportunity to get involved, learn new skills and give back to your soccer community.  
 
There are many days, multiple jobs and many locations where your skills can be put to work to make "the beautiful game - a game for everyone" happen in our community.
 
Equipment Management:
Help organizing everything from cones to bibs, nets, uniforms etc.
Lead by our Operations Manager, Jarrod Beattie, develop the following skills: communication &judgment, organizational, time management, database management, inventory control, reporting skills, analyzing information.
We have 7 days available this spring
  • February 23 (Saturday)
  • March 2 (Saturday) & 16 (Saturday) & 17 (Sunday)
  • April 12 (Friday), 13 (Saturday), 14 (Sunday)
  • May 11 (Saturday)
Tournaments and Festivals:
Lead by our Operations Manager, Jarrod Beattie, and General Manager, Kim Gamble you can be a part of this soccer celebration by volunteering in the following areas:
  • Organization and management of the canteen
  • Field setup and take down
  • General operations to help ensure our facilities are top-notch
  • Field Marshalling, Awards ceremonies, True Sport Ambassadors
  • Equipment management
Come out and enjoy great summer weather at multiple locations: Sir Robert Borden HS, Ben Franklin Park, DA Moodie, Centrepointe. The dates available are:
  • Boys KITC August 10-11
  • RDP Festival August 17
  • Girls KITC September 7-8
Coaching
Many opportunities for you to work with our Grassroots program (4-12 year olds)
Lead by our Technical Director, Craig Fannan, and Director of GK Eduan Nuade, you will be provided with coach training plus a curriculum.
We have 4 Programs and Camps at multiple locations which you can be involved in:
  • 4-5 yr olds Saturdays 9-11am June 1st to Aug 15 (Trend Arlington, Central Park, Westwood)
  • 5-8 yr olds Mondays to Thursdays 6-8pm May 28 to Aug 15 (Westwood, Briargreen)
  • 9-12 yr olds Mondays to Thursdays 6-8pm May 28 to Aug 15 (Grandeur Park)
  • 4-12 Community Once a Week Program 6-8pm July 16 to Aug 22 Tuesday (Central Park) , Wednesday (Grandeur Park),Thursday (Lynwood Park)
  • Camps July and August (Algonquin College)
It is "first come first served" and those interested are asked to please fill out their details in this shared google document "OCSC_Volunteers_2019"
  1. Go to the TAB "Summary Contact Info" - please add all the details requested (ame, contact details, YOB and High School) 
  2. Select the TAB of the job(s) you wish to volunteer for and add your contact details to your preferred time slot
  3. A final confirmation email will be sent to you by the main contact person prior to the event happening (approximately 10 days before)
  4. Finally please show up during your scheduled time
Come out and enjoy "Giving Back" and working with some our great staff and other fantastic volunteers.  Remember your help contributes to the well-being of the entire soccer community from our 4 year olds to our 64 year olds.
