The ⅞ students will be participating in a Social Studies excursion to the Canadian War Museum and the Canadian Museum of History. Students will have the opportunity to experience hands on learning during an historical seminar, a chance to explore the exhibits at the War Museum and enjoy an IMAX film at the Museum of Civilization. This excursion relates directly to the Social Studies curriculum and provides our students with the chance to visit two landmark museums in Ottawa.
Date: March 30th (Grade 7s) and March 31st (Grade 8s)
Location: Canadian War Museum - 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0M8
Canadian Museum of History - 100 Rue Laurier, Gatineau, QC, K1A 0M8
Transportation: Students will be transported via bus from school to each museum and back. Pick up time: 9:00am Return time: 1:30pm
Lunch: Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and snacks for throughout the day. The museums offer cafeteria services, however, there is a strict itinerary for the day that will limit the lunch break, so accessible food is important.
