Attendance, Lates and Signing Out Procedures
Absences
When calling or emailing the school to excuse your child from school for the day, please spell the last name of your child and provide their grade.
An automatic attendance call is sent out by 9:00am for Intermediate students and 9:35am for High School students.
Late Arrivals
Intermediate students should always check in at the office when they arrive after 8:00am.
High School students should always check in to the office when they arrive after 8:30am.
Signing out at lunch
If your child needs to sign out of school over the lunch period they should present themselves to the office and provide a note. The lunch period is unstructured time which makes it challenging to locate a student.
High School lunch - 10:45am to 11:25am
Intermediate lunch - 11:35am to 12:25pm.
Signing out Early
The last hour of the school day is very busy with student's leaving early for appointments and other commitments. It is both helpful and efficient to provide your child with a note for their teacher to excuse them from class to sign out in the Main Office.
Lost Presto Card
LOST OC TRANSPO PRESTO PASS- UNREGISTERED CARD
Create an account and add the (lost) card to it
1. Go to prestocard.ca and click on "I'm a new user" and/or "Create a new account".
2. Fill out the form. The student needs to record all the answers entered on a sheet of paper just in case they forget their login username or password. (Can enter their school email address or a personal one).
3. Click on Add an Existing Card (assigned #). They may be asked to enter a nickname for the card and a 4 digit PIN of their choice.
4. Card is now registered. Log out.
Report lost card
1. Login to the account.
2. Click on "Report Lost Card".
3. Under Transfer Balance select option #3 "report lost card and I will transfer balance later".
4. Logout of account.
Buy a new card
1. Go to a Shoppers Drug Mart and buy a new card for $6.
- If they need to ride the bus before they can transfer their balance in the next step, have them add money to the card to cover the cost of the rides ($3.55 each) that they anticipate taking.
- Make sure the store clerk activates the card before leaving the store.
Transfer balance (school board pass) to the new card
1. Login to the account.
- Do not register, activate or add this card to the account.
2. Click on Report Lost Card
3. Under Transfer Balance select option #2 "report lost card and I have a new replacement card"
4. Enter new card information and follow remaining prompts.
5. Logout.
- Wait 24 hour after transferring the balance (school board pass) to the replacement card before using it.
