Dear Families,
As we roll into the beauty of fall around us, I hope everyone takes some extra time this long weekend to focus on themselves and their well-being. On a personal note, I am deeply thankful to be part of such an incredible and supportive school community.
We encourage all our high school students to stay focused on strong attendance and active participation. This aligns with our ongoing, province-wide efforts to prioritize student engagement and long-term academic success.
Next week, we look forward to coming together as a community to celebrate our Thanksgiving Liturgies. It is a wonderful opportunity to give thanks and reflect on the fresh beginnings of this new school year.
High School Parent-Teacher Interviews (October 15th)
A reminder to our high school families to reach out and book a Parent-Teacher interview for Thursday, October 15th. Please note that October 15th will be an early dismissal day for all students in Grades 7 through 12.
Grade 7 & 8 Ottawa 67's Field Trip
A quick reminder for parents of our Grade 7 and 8 students regarding the upcoming Ottawa 67's field trip! We are looking forward to a fantastic day of fun and community building for everyone involved.
Wishing you all a wonderful, relaxing long weekend!
Alanna Vandewint
On Wednesday, October 14th, we will have our first school liturgy, which will focus on giving thanks. Both staff and student volunteers will lead prayers, Bible readings, and music. All of these will help our community reflect on both difficulties and blessings in our lives, and how we can bring everything to God in prayer.
We invite you to join us in prayer for our community:
God, give us the eyes to see your grace at work here and now. Help us notice the new things your Spirit is doing among us. Grant us the wisdom and courage to look at the past with fresh eyes, so that it may open us more fully to hope for the future. Let us lift our hearts to you with gratitude today. Amen.

Congratulations to Dominic Martin (gr 9 student)!!! Dominic has recently had the honour of making Team Canada in martial arts, an accomplishment that represents years of dedication, discipline, hard work, and perseverance.
We are extremely proud of everything he has accomplished and of the young person he has become through his involvement in the sport. Martial arts has had a tremendous positive impact on Dominic. It has helped him develop confidence, self-discipline, resilience, focus, and the ability to push through challenges. It has given him a sense of purpose and has played a significant role in shaping who he is today. Watching the confidence he has gained through this journey has been incredibly rewarding for his family.
We are all wishing Dominic the best year as he not only represents St Pauls but our entire country!
Every month, our grade ⅞ Community meets for an assembly to remind them of expectations and to highlight events that are upcoming for the group. Each month we also leave the group with a goal for the following month, which we will highlight at the following month's assembly. This month, we are celebrating humility.
Tennis
Our tennis season has officially wrapped up! It was a true building year for the program, with players showing incredible growth, grit, and sportsmanship every time they took the court. Great job BEARS!
Golf
Our golfers had a fantastic day out on the course in late September. The weather held up and our 4 athletes represented the school with outstanding teamwork!
Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee saw an unbelievable turnout this season - so strong that we were able to run two complete teams! Teams are competing in a tournament on Oct 9th. Good luck Bears!
Looking Ahead
Three of our teams Flag Football, Girls Basketball and Boys Volleyball teams are officially advancing into the second phase of their seasons. Be sure to check the schedule and come out to the gym to cheer on our athletes as they push for the playoffs!
The Girls and Boys soccer teams travelled to Immaculata this week to contest the board wide tournament. Both teams finished with multiple wins on the day. The girls boasted a semi finals appearance for one of their better finishes in recent memory. Despite a smaller squad, the boys competed hard and had a bevy of goal scorers and assist makers. Coaches Quinn, Hervato, and Gonsalves are happy with the results and the team camaraderie which grew over the course of the season. Thank you coaches!
The Intermediate Cross Country running team competed hard yesterday at the City Championships at Mooney’s Bay Park. 19 athletes contested the challenging conditions with mixed results in both the competitive and recreational divisions. Coaches Roberts and Austen reported that athletes had fun, supported each other, and challenged themselves. Well done Golden Bears!
Next on the calendar is the volleyball season which begins at the end of the month.

We encourage our community to celebrate International Walk to School (iWalk) Month! iWalk Month celebrates walking and wheeling to and from school all throughout the month of October! Join the fun by walking or wheeling to school in October as many days as you can!
We’ve all experienced congestion and unsafe driving behaviours in the school zone around drop off and pick up times. One way to reduce that is by walking or wheeling to school. There are so many other benefits as well including improving physical and mental health, increasing attention span and academic performance, and learning how to navigate spaces.
If you live too far away, or the school is on your driving route to your next destination, consider parking or dropping off your child 5-10 minutes away from the school and walking the rest of the way. This helps keep our school zone safer and helps you get a few steps in along the way.
We hope you will join us in celebrating fun, healthy ways to get to school
Reminder: Grade 12 Grad Blasts: Throughout the year, Grade 12 students will receive bi-weekly update emails packed with essential news, key deadlines, and post-secondary resources. We strongly encourage students to review this information alongside their families and support networks—navigating these big decisions is much easier with extra guidance! These are also posted on our grad website.
Grade 12 Application Help: Grade 12s are invited to come to Students Services at lunch October 13-16 if they would like any help with their OCAS or OUAC applications. Students are always welcome to book an appointment for help as well.
School Club & Sports Fair!
We are excited to announce our upcoming School Club & Sports Fair on Friday, October 23rd, taking place during both the 7/8 and High School lunches! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore a wide variety of extracurriculars, meet student leaders, and find new ways to connect with our school community. We encourage all parents and guardians to chat with their children about attending and hope they find an area of interest that inspires them to get involved this year!
